Wesley Hill & Karen Keen | The Streckert Lecture on Christianity, Sexuality, and Gender
On April 5th, 2022, Wheaton College’s Sexual & Gender Identity Institute (SGI) of the School of PCFT hosted “A Conversation on Same-Sex Relationships” in Barrows Auditorium. This event, running from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m., featured scholars Wesley Hill and Karen R. Keen. They presented diverse perspectives in a dialogue about same-sex relationships and the role of sex difference in the Christian definition of marriage. This conversation comes amidst ongoing debates within the Christian community about the ethics of same-sex relationships, traditionally grounded in biblical interpretations from Genesis and Ephesians 5. The event marked a shift from specific scriptural exegesis to a broader theological exploration of sex difference and its implications for marriage.
