Our Purpose
The Rainbow Well aims to curate an online resource hub for fully affirming Christian resources for and about 2SLGBTQIA+ identities. With an emphasis on intersectionality, we seek to highlight voices and perspectives from additionally marginalized perspectives within the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
We aim to provide a diverse array of resources, such as book reviews, documentaries, films, and a weekly source of new articles, interviews, and features. Our hope is to provide these resources in order to inform, educate, support, and empower individuals and communities seeking to engage these aspects of faith, gender, and sexuality for the purpose of human flourishing.

OUR VALUES
Understanding
We are committed to fostering a deeper comprehension of 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and experiences as well as their intersection with the Christian faith. More than education, we believe this knowledge and understanding will transform hearts and minds.
Affirming
Every resource featured at The Rainbow Well is selected to affirm and celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We are dedicated to creating a space where all identities and expressions are included, respected, and honored.
Intersectionality
Recognizing the layered experiences of individuals, we prioritize an intersectionality. This includes amplifying the voices and experiences of marginalized groups within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, such as BIPOC individuals and people with disabilities.
Community
At our heart is a spirit of community that cultivates connections- where stories are shared and collective growth is nurtured. More than a collection of information, it’s a place where we can come together for mutual transformation and relationship.
FAQ’S
For The Rainbow Well being affirming means the active acceptance, support, and celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals into every facet of life and faith within our community and the world (see 101 for more details). That means that our resources are curated to support that goal. However, the definition of “affirming” might vary over time and depending on context, which will be reflected in the content. While we do our best to only provide resources that fit our values, inclusion on this site does not constitute a full endorsement. Should you find any content questionable, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For many people, knowing where to start in the process of understanding and embracing a fully affirming theology can be overwhelming. We knew that people would need some direction. To that end, we’ve designed a Rainbow Well 101 that offers a guided journey through the basics, offering both “quick looks” and “deeper dives”. Should you want more support in this process, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
The Rainbow Well is a project of Peace & Justice Initiatives, spearheaded and operated by PJI c0-director, Jamie Arpin-Ricci (he/him). Jamie is an author, speaker, and community activist who lives and works at the intersection of faith, sexuality, and community renewal. A bisexual/pansexual/queer man, he resides in Winnipeg’s West End. He serves as a pastoral leader at Little Flowers Community, a Mennonite faith community. As co-founder of PJI, his work centers on promoting social justice, with a primary focus on advocacy and support for 2SLGBTQIA+.
The Rainbow Well is a non-profit initiative that is only possible through the generous support of donors like you. Your donations enable us to advocate, educate, and support, fostering a world where everyone is embraced for who they are. Committed to intersectionality and in solidarity with the wider 2SLGBTQIA+ community, 10% of all donations are shared with a selected queer BIPOC organization each quarter, amplifying our collective impact.

As The Rainbow Well grows, we have every expectation to host events, including conferences, retreats, online community, and much more. There has been a strong desire expressed for in-person connection and community, and our hope is to help fulfil some of that need. This will only be possible through regular, monthly donors who can help us expand our reach and offer more and better resources and connection. For details on donating, click here.
While The Rainbow Well was formed as a response to a need expressed by 2SLGBTQIA+ folks in Canada, our hope is that this site and community will be helpful to anyone and everyone who finds it. Already we have had connections with folks in Europe, Australia, Africa, the United States, and beyond.
In others words, everyone is welcome at The Rainbow Well!
