2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Deserve to be Safe

2SLGBTQIA+ youth deserve safety. That means schools where their identities are respected, families where they are not rejected, churches where they are not shamed, and communities where they are not seen as threats but celebrated for who they are. Right now, across North America and around the world, that safety is being stripped away.
Policies are being passed that force teachers to out students to their parents. Books with queer characters are being banned. Pride flags are being removed from classrooms. And many youth, especially trans and nonbinary students, are being told that who they are is a danger to others.
These actions are not about protecting children. They are about policing identity and enforcing supremacy. And they are costing lives. Queer and trans youth already face disproportionate rates of depression, homelessness, and suicide- rates that rise sharply when they are rejected by family or targeted by policy. No one should have to try to survive childhood. No one should have to fight for the right to exist.
There are organizations doing the real work of care and protection. Groups that are providing crisis support, education, and safer spaces. But this cannot be left only to them. If we believe in justice, we must build schools, churches, and homes where queer youth are not merely accepted, but defended.
What are you doing to make the world safer for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth?
